4 Ways to Naturally Boost Energy

Are you tired of feeling tired?

One of the main reason why low energy creeps is because there is a lack of flow in the body.

Things get stagnant.

Waste is not eliminated in real-time and therefore accumulates, making us feel sluggish and apathic.

Our body excretes waste (and toxins) out in 4 simple ways.

If we make sure these 4 things are flowing, we will create life force.

This has been known for thousands of years and a core principle of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Those are the foundational markers I make sure to optimize right away with my health coaching clients.

It’s our lowest hanging fruit!

Flow is life.

I’ve rounded up the 4 ways you create flow and regain some energy quickly.

  1. GO TO THE BATHROOM

Seems basic but this is the actual bottleneck of your body. If you don’t have 1 to 2 good bowel movements per day, waste can’t possibly be eliminated properly.

The body re-absorbs waste and toxins = you feel awful.

It’s a vicious circle.

This is critical for energy.

QUICK TIP: Take 1 scoop of Magnesium Citrate at night in a bit of warm water. 1 scoop of Vitamin C in the morning can also help.

  1. URINATE

Again, seems obvious but if you go to the bathroom and your urine is dark yellow, it’s because you’re not drinking enough water and things aren’t getting flushed out regularly.

QUICK TIP: Drink 2-3L of filtered water per day. Avoid drinking tap water as it’s highly contaminated and creates more work on your body. You can use a water filter like this one. Don’t hold it in: go when you need to go.

  1. SWEAT

Waste and toxins also get eliminated through sweat. That’s why daily movement is essential and will re-energize you.

If you feel tired and overwhelmed, a daily walk is my preferred type of exercise over any workout. While you start healing, it will be the most restorative form of exercise (while cardio, strength and resistance training are beneficial, they are a stressor on the body. When competing for energy, it’s best to temporarily pause them). Aim for 10k steps per day.

QUICK TIP: Speed up sweating by going into an infrared sauna. Many wellness centers have them available on an inexpensive membership. Remember to wipe off your sweat as it’s coming since it will be toxic and we want to avoid re-absorption.

  1. BREATHE

Everytime we breathe out, we excrete a combination of carbon dioxide, waste and toxins.

That’s why taking a moment to take a few deep breathes will give you a quick burst of energy.

That’s also why having a bad breath can be an indicator of toxic overload.

QUICK TIP: When you feel stress creeping in, take 3 to 5 deep belly breaths. This will not only diffuse any perceived stressor, it will also help to speed up waste elimination.
